Job Description

Point-Of-Sale Configuration & Software Build Engineer| Retail | £300-400 per day
A global, market leader has an immediate contract requirement for a POS (Point of Sale) Configuration & Build Engineer to join them onsite in Hertfordshire.

The key technical skills include:
*Strong software building & configuration experience of POS (Point-Of-Sale Systems) or EPOS (Electronic Point-Of-Sale Systems) supplier specification.
*Experience with SQL scripting,.NET framework and SQL Server
*Experience of POSReady is a must (Windows Embedded POSReady, Windows Embedded for Point of Service, Windows Embedded for Point of Service, WEPOS, Windows Embedded POSReady 2009, Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry)
*Microsoft Windows OS, LINUX, UNIX
*Strong scripting Knowledge (SQL, C++, Python and Command Line)
*POS Hardware systems (HP, Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba)
*Strong networking skills; Cisco, LAN, Wireless LAN, WAN, Routers, Switch, Hub, Gateways
*Strong Server knowledge (MS Server 2008 / 2008 R2 / 2012 / 2012 R2 / 2016)
*Use of Microsoft SCCM for till builds
*Retalix Software (Epos/Application Support)
*HP Openview (Operation Console Manager i)
*Citrix
*Active directory & System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM)

Additional experience required includes:

*Knowledge of ITIL \ Change process \ testing
*Package batch scripting and package scripting, Automating processes and patch writing via batch scripting and DOS
*Reimaging and software patching Base units
*Creating batch files to automate various processes for till's and servers remotely.
*Understanding of how payments and PCI controls work
*Experience in project delivery - working to tight deadlines alongside dedicated
*PM's\Business Analysts\Infrastructure Resources
*Manage 2nd and 3rd line incidents for key operational applications
*Maintain incident knowledge base to continually improve the level of service provided to the business
*Manage key application vendors to provide defect fixes and timely upgrades
*Perform system implementations and upgrades ensuring proper change management procedures are followed
*Prepare and submit release instructions for UAT and Production
*Work closely with Infrastructure Analysts and DBA's throughout the release process
