Data Engineer

This role focuses on designing and building secure, scalable, data driven software and cloud solutions. You will work closely with engineering, architecture, and business teams to translate requirements into well designed applications and data workflows. Using modern software engineering and data engineering practices, you will contribute to systems that are reliable, performant, secure, and easy to operate, while working in an agile, delivery focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data driven applications combining data processing and business logic
• Contribute to application and data architecture decisions, ensuring alignment with best practices
• Implement and maintain data pipelines integrated with application components
• Apply secure software engineering principles across design, development, and deployment
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs
• Support deployment, monitoring, and operational stability in cloud environments
• Promote continuous improvement, code quality, and sustainable engineering practices
• Stay current with emerging technologies in software and data engineering

Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development data engineering, with strong exposure to data driven systems
• Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, SQL, and or C#
• Solid understanding of data engineering concepts and software architecture including microservices and APIs
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases and data modelling practices
• Experience contributing to system and application architecture discussions
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
• Experience with containerization and infrastructure as code is a plus
• Experience with Databricks is a plus
• Strong problem solving, communication, and mentoring skills
