Java Developer

Join our leading consultancy client as a Java Backend Developer! 

Java Developer with a product mindset required to join one of Belgium's leading tech consultancies on a permanent / employee basis.

As a Java Developer, you'll be at the forefront of designing, developing, and implementing various backend functionalities and services for a well-known media company, using a cutting-edge JVM stack based around Java, AWS, Spring, ElasticSearch, MongoDB, etc.

While our client operates as a consultancy, they place a huge emphasis on technology and product - you will be involved in building systems from the ground up and delivering them on a release schedule that works best for your team.

Some of your responsibilities include:

• Striving for high-quality, well-crafted and efficient code
• Ensuring a high level of test coverage at all times
• Maintaining, optimising and refactoring existing codebase
• Developing and integrating APIs across various systems and databases
• Collaborating closely with a talented team of developers, designers, and scrum masters

The ideal candidate will have some / all of the following skills / experience

• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English
• Strong commercial experience with Java
• Unit testing and mocking
• Spring Boot
• SQL
• Domain Driven Design
• Microservices
• Strong knowledge of DevOps tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS / Azure / GCP
• Proven Agile / TDD experience
